OVERVIEW

FPA Mega Resources Ltd is a financial service company focused on providing forex trading services. They provide forex trading training and mentorship, forex signals, trading robots, and copy trading services.

 My primary responsibility was to develop and implement a strategy that significantly boosted our social media presence and drove user engagement.

  • Developed and implemented social media marketing strategies.
  • Created and curated engaging content for various social media platforms.
  • Managed social media accounts and interacted with followers.
  • Edited short videos for stories and designed content for stories and feed posts.
  • Scripted and directed the production of YouTube videos.
  • Collaborated with a graphics designer and cinematographer to deliver content.
  • Sourced video hosts and coordinated accommodation, set, and set equipment.
  • Monitored and analyzed campaign performance.

Background

Key Challenge: Forex trading platforms, academies, and coaches faced the problem originating from notorious get-rich-quick schemes and scams pre-COVID. Building trust and sustaining a good reputation became a difficult task. 

Team: I joined the team as the social media manager on a 3 months contract renewable at the end of tenure based on performance and satisfactory delivery. I report directly to the CEO and collaborate with the Creative Director, Graphics Designer, and Cinematographer to create and publish content across the board.

While the contract was stated for 3 months, renewable for another 3 months if client satisfaction is achieved, I have been with the firm for 7 months as of the last update indicating my 2nd contract renewal which attests to the satisfactory delivery of assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Key Achievements: Over six months, the campaign successfully increased social media followers by over 20,000 through targeted content marketing and strategic social media ads. Additionally, we exceeded 200,000 monthly page reach (organic and paid combined) and generated over 60 new leads daily, with some days exceeding 100 new leads.

Understanding The Problem

At the end of the onboarding session with the CEO and the  creative team, I understood the firms mission and short term goals. I also noted some challenges. These were;

  • Low social media engagement.
  • Insufficient brand awareness.
  • High competition in the Forex education sector.
  • Lack of trust in the forex industry 
  • Difficulty in converting social media followers into active users.

Strategic Approach

I employed the  following strategies to accomplish specific goals.

To boost social media engagement;

  • Content Strategy: I created a content calendar with a mix of educational posts, entertainment, and promotional content for stories and feed.
  • Targeted Ads: Launched and optimized targeted social media ads to reach a wider audience.
  • Video Content: Scripted and directed YouTube and TikTok videos, collaboration with a cinematographer for production.
  • Collaboration: Worked closely with the graphics designer and cinematographer to ensure consistent and appealing visuals and messaging.
  • Analytics: Monitored performance using social media analytics tools to track engagement and adjust strategies as needed.

 

To drive more engagement;

  • Engagement: Actively engaged with followers through comments, messages, and interactive posts.
  • Content Strategy: Included educative and entertainment content for stories/statuses. Introduced quizzes and  polls as weekly story content.

  • Increased Followers: Gained over 20,000 new followers in six months.
